The miracle of life

Our family has always had boys in the family.  I had two boys, my husband's father had two boys and his father had two boys.  Until today, my son had two boys.  I am proud to announce that after four generations of boys, we have a little girl, Camille Charene. She was born at 4:55 a.m. and I was in the room and got to witness this wonderful miracle. Camille's birth was all natural with a mid-wife and both grandmother's (including myself), my son, and a few friends in the room. She weights 7 lbs 6 oz and from the time that little head showed she was screaming. I had both of my boys C-Section so I had never witnessed a birth and it's just the most beautiful thing.

Mom and baby are both doing fine and were back home in a matter of hours to introduce Colton and Liam to their new sister.  I had asked Colton (age 5) last Friday whether he wanted a baby brother or sister and he had told me, "I just want a healthy baby."  I guess that's the real miracle of life.

Congratulations to all!   Girls are such fun, well at least till they're older and you have to start beating the boys off although a good evil eye usually keeps them in line.

I am an only daughter on my maternal side for several generations back, I broke the tradition with having three.

I can well imagine the overwhelming joy you're feeling, I was there when my Grandkids came into the world.

Lovely names for all the kids, it is always wonderful news to hear about the birth of a baby, such a blessing.  Congratulations again, have you bought anything pink yet? :-)

Congrats, belatedly, Clay County.  You must be having a ball.

My sisters and I only reproduced via the Y gene, and the next generation began with a couple of more boys.  Finally my nephew and his wife had a girl, Lily Alice.  Brings a whole different atmosphere into the family.

Take lots of pictures.

Ah, that is so sweet.  Congratulations!  Yes, take lots and lots of pictures; they grow so fast!  I'm enjoying a great-granddaughter, and these past 18 months have flown by!  I take pictures every chance I get.

My son put this video up on youtube.  The baby came home a few hours after being born so mom was doing great, I think.  I thought the boys did a great job of meeting their new sister.
