Football coverage

If you're new to MyClaySun.com, you might not have noticed the difference.

But you old timers (looking at you, RichK,Lily,Marsha) have probably already spotted it.

The Football tab in the black menu bar up top. This is why it's there:

The printed My Clay Sun runs Thursday through Saturday, which doesn't allow for very timely high school football coverage (since deadlines for those editions are much earlier in the week). So Lamar decided to use the 24-hour power of the internet to provide Clay with it's football coverage. We will have several people attending football games and blogging about the game immediately afterward. You will find highlights from the major games every Friday night right here, just by clicking on the "Football" tab.

We also promise plenty of football photos, both in the printed and web version of MCS.

So if you're a high school football fan, you know where to look-

Jonathon,

"Sorry bout that chief."  Hate to burst the bubble, but with very few, very rare, exceptions, I don't follow college or high school sports.

I followed the DePaul Blue Demons basketball in the late 70's because they were from my old neighborhood.  I continue to follow Northwestern U. & Princeton football only because of familial connections.

Since I was not born here, raised here & don't have children in the school system, I must admit that I have no interest in local high school/ college sports teams.

I do root for the Jaguars because they  are the team I adopted because of the locality.  But my primary sports allegiances are with DA CUBS, DA BEARS, DA BULLS & the White Sox.  After all, I am a North Side boy.  GO CUBS!!!!!!

Harry,

You'll just have to trust me on this one.  It has to do with a highly trained , unbelievably higher intellectual level in close proximity to the corners of State & Madison.  One has to expand ones intellectual horizons & think outside not only the box, but the normal concept of the box.  It ain't easy.  It takes practise.  But it can be done.  Thus endeth the lesson, grasshopper.  JATFUR.

Besides, it has nothing to do what someone else will or will not allow.  TOTALLY NEW CONCEPT, DUDE!!!

Paul,

I had the chance to visit Boston a few times back in the early 70's.  I love that town.  Being a lover of Chicago & Wrigley Field, it was no surprise that I fell in love with Fenway Park. Two great & beautiful places of worship.  Boston is in my top ten choices of places I'd like to live given the right circumstances.
