Does anyone know of any flag football or ultimate frisbee teams for adults in Clay County? I love playing ultimate - it works practically every muscle in the body and is a great team sport! My St. John's County/Duval friends play on a women's flag football team and have invited me to join, but my family couldn't tolerate my absence for the 45 minute drive there, the game, and the 45 minute return drive from Roberts Rd. on a twice weekly basis. I am not aware of similar leagues on the this side of the Buckman/Shands. Googling Clay County and adult athletic teams yielded no results. No luck with Clay County and Ultimate Frisbee either.
I am not a member of the YMCA, but I think all their programs are targeted to youth anyway. Am I wrong? Would anyone be interested in a pick-up ultimate frisbee game? Are people too busy with their kids' athletics and/or Jacksonville commutes to spend time this way? Why doesn't Clay County offer this sort of thing for adults? I know there are a zillion children's leagues... It isn't for a lack of athletic fields!

I am not necessarily volunteering to organize something like this (my infant and toddler keep me busy!), but it will be interesting to see if there is any "market" for something of this sort. Maybe an informal game would be a good step in the right direction.
