Bradley enters race
County Commissioner Rob Bradley released this press release today: GREEN COVE SPRINGS – AUGUST 20, 2007 – Republican attorney Rob Bradley will run for the newly-created position of elected chairman of the Clay County Board of County Commissioners. Bradley, a fourth-generation Clay native who was recently appointed to the Commission by Gov. Charlie Crist, filed campaign papers at the Supervisor of Elections Office today. Bradley said his experience this year filling the vacant District 1 seat on the Commission convinced him that there is an urgent need for a new kind of approach that he can bring to Clay County’s government. “As a business owner, community leader, father and lifelong resident of this county, I understand why there exists a strong desire for new leadership in our county government.” Bradley said. “It’s time for an approach that focuses on setting goals and working together to meet those goals rather than politics as usual.” Submitted by alabayea on Tue, 08/21/2007 - 9:58am.
Glad to see him enter that race early. He has performed well on the BCC and certainly knows what is best for Clay County. Best wishes for a successful campaign. Submitted by stan24 on Tue, 08/21/2007 - 3:21pm.
So glad to have a candidate for office that I can stand behind. I served with Rob on a community board and found him to be truly interested in his County. He is a professional with a passion for public service. I only hope he can hang tough in Clay County. This place has been known to chew up some fine individuals. Stay strong Rob.

I am reserving judgement on Mr. Bradley's campaign. What I want to know is where does he stand on Hometown Democracy, Repealing the Garbage Tax, and Term Limits. Will we be getting a position statement on what Mr. Bradley wants to accomplish? As you know, I am deeply suspicious of anyone who seeks elective office. I don't expect anything different from Mr, Bradley (I suffer from a severe case of Diminished Expectations) but sometimes a change of face is enough for the moment. I remember you when you were a young State Attorney. You did well. I believe you have the heart to do well for this county. Just remember. Don't get above your raising.
That seems to have been the path of most politicians in this county.
Once elected, they didn't know who got them there and only looked out for themselves and who was dishing out the bucks to their coffers.
It's time we had someone looking out for the public. You know, the guy that pays the salary you want.
