Harold Rutledge Running for Chair of BCC

Politics in Clay County amaze me.  When Harold Rutledge was running for the BCC he went door to door in my neighborhood promising changes if elected.  I listened and flet he was sincere and would TRY and make things better for the citizens of Clay County.

He gets elected and appears to keep his pledge.  Move two years forward and he fits right in with the establishment.  Than he's appointed to Chair the board for a year.  I thought it was me being a little critical of his demeanor as chair.  The power of that position went to his head quicker than the shuttle launch.  He not only "bullied" other commissioners he wouldn't even let citizens address the board with issues that effected everyone in the county.  It was like he became a dictator od sorts. He has gone in the opposite direction of his promises to listenand let the citizens be heard.

 Now he wants to run as the first elected Chair of the BCC and for four years to boot. Can you imagine what this county will look like after four years of his non-inclusive style of goverment.  Frightening to say the least.  Let's hope someone out there gives us a choice.
