SHOULD WE AS TAX PAYERS BE PAYING FOR THIS?

Should we as tax payers pay for the wear and tear on a county vehicle for the clerk of the court to travel to his vacation home in another county? Should we as tax payers pay for gym memberships for employees of the clerk of the court? I don't think we should. The county budget is already out of hand. If we trimed abuse such as this out of the budget, how much money could we save the tax payers?

When this is going on in his own office....why would we expect anything different?....from several different sources....

"Council member Debbie Ricks said she uses a personal account for the bulk of her city business and also gets some e-mails sent to her work account because Green Cove's system is too cumbersome.

While the latter were supplied under the Times-Union's request, Ricks was unable to supply e-mails from an address she maintains at www.juno.com, saying Thursday her Internet service had been out for 10 days."

But in a different audit...Ms. Ricks...It was discovered that council member Mrs. Rick's sent and received over 4095 e-mails from her computer terminal at the clerk of the courts (Mr. Jett's office). Of the 4095 emails over one-third was personal business, Green Cove Springs City business or politically related. Mr. Jett was informed of these e-mails and to my knowledge failed to take any action."
This seems like a real good way to spend tax payers money....

APPARENTLY THE CLERK HAS NOT LEARNED THE LESSONS OF A PREVIOUS SHERIFF IN THIS COUNTY.. BUT THEN AGAIN HE IS ONE OF THE GOOD-OLD BOYS!

The clerk gave employees bonuses during the last election cycle (2004), then requested half back in campaign donations.  What a way to use taxpayer dollars.

I wonder if the tax payers are paying his attorney's fees for his civil court date in Feb 2008 that stems from that debacle?!?
