It truly is a sad day in America......

It truly is a sad day in America; when cruelty to animals raise more cries for justice, than the murder of our children. When will the madness stop? When will the people rise up and demand action from society, not, from just law enforcement, but from society as a whole. Law enforcement can not solve this problem on there own. The parents and citizens must get involved. As a citizen you have an obligation to society to report what you know about a crime. I know people are afraid to get involved, but you must; if the madness is going to stop! Remember the next murder could be you, or worse your grandchild. That would be pretty hard to live with, if you knew you had a chance to change it.

The parents have the same obligation to report what they know about any violent crime; even if it is your own child that you have to turn in, it’s called tough love. And that tough love should have been applied way before it got to the point your child could be referred to as a thug! You as a parent have the responsibility to raise your child to be a responsible, productive young adult. Unfortunately parents don’t do that today, children are drug up, not raised with the values that coincide with the values of are society. You as a parent know if your child is a thug or not, and if you don’t you should a least have a gut feeling that they are, just by how they act and who they hang with. I see it all the time children with no respect for any type of authority figure, but demand respect for there selves, respect is not given it is earned. .

Now for law enforcement; Law enforcement is trying to get the murder rate under control in Duval, but it has become very obvious it is not working. Maybe it is time they go to plan B. Law enforcement knows what areas have the most problems. Consider this plan. The thugs can see you guy’s coming a mile away, after all your cars are full of reflective marking’s. Get out of your cars and get on bikes. Take a several block area and put your patrol cars on the perimeter to use as back up. Let the bikes, say three or four to a squad patrol the inside of the perimeter. You will be able to sneak up on the thugs before they even know you are there. Question there motives for being on the streets late at night. If they are minors or if you can find probable cause search them, you will most likely find concealed weapons. If there are any suspicions of a problem call in your back up. Yes it will be more dangerous for the deputies, but that is the job you signed on for, to protect and serve. To simplified maybe; but it is a plan. The maddness must stop! Winn1955
