Gas tax and county roads

I sit back read, listen and analyze all the talk about dirt roads in Clay County and how we Clay Countyians must be prepared for more taxes to improve our quality of life.

Well in thet past six months we've had a 11 percent increase in our water-n-sewage rates, $140. in forced trash pick-up.  Not bad when I only receive a 3-5% increase in my salary.  Wonder when the negative dollars will help inrease my quality of life.  Oops!  let's not forget the school board wanting and half-cent sales tax increase.  WOW!!!!!!!! Quality of Life?

If my my mind serves me right Clay County raised the tax on gasoline in the early to mid ninties to improve the roads in Clay.  Than within a few years the Commissioners had the tax extended for another 10-20 years.   Wonder where that road money went?  George Bush stated "we haven't has a plan for fouteen years".

The citizens need to start inquiring about all these tax monies and demand answers not talk.
