Live from New York It's Watchable again!

You know, it seems all I hear lately about Saturday Night Live is how it's not what is used to be and how everyone misses their favorite cast member. Well...the truth is it IS what it used to be, and even if you do miss your favorite cast member there's plenty of awesome ones now. You know, they tried to cancel SNL in the midst of the Sandler-Farley-Spade-McDonald golden years (though for some of you Chase-Belushi and co is more like the golden years)? The New Yorker ripped SNL apart in what we remember as the best years of SNL.

Andy Samberg is hilarious. Every week his digitial shorts hit a home run this season, The OC Spoof, **** in a box, Laser Cats, all gold. GOLD.

Kristin Wiig's characters are hysterical. She comes up with these brilliant characters and every time you see her on screen, you shout "Oh my god that's just like he-or-she!" as you laugh your eyes out. (yeah, laugh your eyes out. It can happen)

Will Forte is just freaking hilarious. He's so weird and out there but he makes you laugh every time. He probably writes this stuff down, and the people who read are like "what...what are you talking about" but then Forte goes out there and kills it.

Meyers and Poehler are hilarious on weekend update, Keenan Thompson reps Nickelodeon in hilarious fashion, Jason Sudeikis is becoming the top male cast member and things are good again at 30 Rock.

So why aren't people watching?/

Answer: They're insane.

Harry,

I'm happy for you in enjoying SNL. I see parts of it on occasion but I have to say, I find it as incredibly lame today as it was after the departure of Ackroyd, Chase and Murray. Humor is definitely in the ears of the beholder. Of course, I really love the old guys like Benny, Newhart and Hope. Of the current crop, Steven Wright is the only one I have paid good money to see in a generation. Of the past season of SNL, the only humorous skit I've seen was (I think Kristen Wiig) doing Nancy Pelosi right after she seized control as Speaker of the House. That was pure genius. I only wish there was good comedy for me to watch I could enjoy as much as you do but I doubt that's ever going to happen again. Now that my guys are either too old or dead, the laughter is gone.

By the way, I never got Seinfeld. It was just too stupid for me. I don't think I ever got through a complete episode although I did try three times.
