The fourth grade Battle of the Books will be held in the cafeteria on Tuesday, April 15th, 9:40AM-10:40AM. Students from Mr.Wilson, Mrs. Moyer, and Mrs. Poidevant's classes each read 18 Sunshine State Young Reader Award books and took a qualifying test to be on their homeroom team. The three teams will come together to demonstrate their abilities and test their knowledge of the books. Each team has three members and one alternate. The following students will represent their homerooms: Fiona Stevens, A.J. Evatt, Yesenia Salazar, Denise Ayres, Ashley Richardson, Trey Bankston, Ally Hale, T.J.

The sixth grade students at Lakeside Elementary will hold a speech contest in the cafeteria on Tuesday, April 15th at 1:40PM for the classroom winners. The winner of this competition will move on to the district competition.

Whether they’re looking for an internship, a part-time job or a full-time career, Career-Job Expo attendees will have an opportunity on April 15 to hand their resumes to a wide variety of employers from the Northeast Florida region. The Expo will be held at the Thrasher-Horne Conference Center from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and is sponsored by St. Johns River Community College, Clay County School District, Clay County Chamber of Commerce Business and Education Partnership Committee and WorkSource. The event is free and open to the public.
