GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Clay County Clerk of Court James Jett is defending his use of a county-provided SUV to drive to his St. Augustine Beach condominium, to church on Sunday and to a political rally.

"It may not have been smart, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with it," Jett told Channel 4's Jim Piggott on Wednesday.

CONGRATULATIONS CHRISTY FITZGERALD.  THE GOVERNOR HAS REINSTANED HER TO HER POSITION ON THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

Periodically, members of the Clay County Sheriff's Office will provide information via the My Clay Sun blog in response to blogs related to the Sheriff's Office, public safety and crime in our area.  Our goal is to provide information to readers that corrects inaccuracies or expands further on posted information that is helpful to the community.  To that end, please note the following in response to a blog posted this afternoon that stated a person died from being tased by a deputy this weekend. There was no such incident.  The last CCSO taser-related incident that involved the death of a suspect was on 9-30-06 in the South Hampton neighborhood. 

I have been following the threads for many weeks without much comment.  But I have been thinking about the new rules imposed on the blog and it comes down to one issue.  The Sheriff, Mr. Beesler, writes one article opposing anonymous input and all of the rules are changed on the blog...Totally amazing!

 Now for months we have read diatribes about the owner of the Ravines (if I met him on the street I would run and hide my wallet based on the posts), animal control (I would hide my babies because according to the blog they would kill anything that walks), the CRC (should be hanged from the nearest tree for treason),  Christy Fitzgerald (gosh just draw and quarter her now...and we would have eden back), Arthur Ivey (if only he had not been working for the county all of the past sins would never have happened...I bet he wished that he had that much power). 

Justice prevails yet again  and a  HIGH cost to the citizens of Clay County.  The jury was out of the courtroom long enough to select a foreman and return a not guilty verdict for the theft of 25 cent sandbags.  Wow, I am so proud to say I live in Clay County where we spend millions of dollars taking someone to trial for the theft of 25 cent sandbags....and most importantly another trial will follow for pieces of plywood....but those are probably worth a couple of dollars each.

Thank goodness there are reasonable people on St. Johns County to are hearing these cases.  They, the people of St. Johns County, must think Clay County State Attorney Seigal must have absolutely nothing better to do with his time...other than waste tax payers money.

    Over the past few weeks, Blogger PBinCC has been allowed to viciously and maliciously "Lie" about our Clerk of  Courts, James Jett,  on this blog site. I  know Mr. Jett personally, worked in his campaigns, and have 1st hand knowledge of the  "Lies" PBinCC is stating regarding pay bonuses, campaign violations, and intimidation of Clerk employees on this site.

I found these posted on myclaysun in the spotted gallery....must be nice to have a gas guzzling county vehicle to take it out of town for personal use....clerk of court jett
