Rosie the political analyst

So sorry to veer away from local politics, but this is entertaining.

She was great in that baseball movie (guess it wasn't that great, I can't recall the name) but Rosie O'Donnel is one mixed up hollywood queen.

Here is her latest - sorry, I just can't provide any kind of comment on this, it leaves me speechless and speaks for itself.

NEW YORK  —  Rosie O'Donnell defended Rev. Jeremiah Wright on the "Today" show on Monday, saying Barack Obama's former pastor "made sense to me."

The comedian also compared herself to Wright, saying "some people confuse passion for rage." She also came to Wright's defense on his views on the origins of AIDS.

Special event on January 20th!

Join the MCS blogging world in advance planning for an event to soften the blow sure to be felt by one of our favorites, SoloVoice (or better known as Inmabil or I Never Met A Bush I Liked) on January 20, 2009.  It is on this day that he will suffer the excruciating pain, nausea, intestinal distress, and otherwise despair when he will no longer have W to research, dig, and otherwise dump dirt on regarding what color underwear he chooses for a state dinner or to blame for the gas prices in Opp, Alabama.

Political "kingdom of faith" - religous left or right?

Here is one of those ‘Who said it?’ questions – Which candidate last year, while discussing the power and salvation of faith, asked a church audience in South Carolina to help him become “an instrument of God” and join him in creating “a Kingdom right here on Earth."

Guess one of those crazy right wing guys like Huckabee or Romney?  Wrong – Obama said that.  I know it is old news, but with more scrutiny being placed on Obama's unwillingness to answer pretty much any questions unless the anser is “change,” his religious beliefs are getting a thorough review.

U.S. Jets turn back Russan Bombers - really! (who to wake up at 3 am?)

 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23498822/

Very interesting headline that probably won't make too much of a rumble in the national press - but given the latest sparring of TV ads between "The Changer Obama" and "Ready on Day One Hillary" over who do you want to be awakened at 3 in the morning in a national security emergency... hmmm

Let's see - Russian bombers approaching a U.S. Warship, for those of you with Navy time, you know this 'kind of' happens alot more than reported.  However, in this case the aircraft appear to have been a little more brazen and closer than usual.

This just in - Bush praised by social activitist!!

To see President Bush and "social activitist" in the same sentence, much less Bush being praised by the social activitist might cause some of you to need to sit down - you know who you are.

But - in the interest of presenting something both positive on our President AND a prime example of media bias, here is an example of note.

Now, this came from FoxNews, but I agree with Solo/Rich - if you read enough sources and actually let your brain think for itself, you can screen out any possible media bias.

 ************************************************

Rock singer and noted social activist Bob Geldof is praising President Bush for his work in delivering bills of dollars to fight disease and poverty in Africa — and ripping the media for ignoring it. The Washington Times reports Geldof has joined the president during his African trip, and is interviewing him for TIME Magazine. He says Mr. Bush — "has done more than any other president so far."He adds — "This is the triumph of American policy really. It was probably unexpected of the man. It was expected of the nation, but not of the man, but both rose to the occasion. What's in it for him? Absolutely nothing." And of the press— Geldof says — "You guys didn't pay attention." And as if to prove the point — neither The New York Times nor The Washington Post printed a word of his praise for President Bush.

Clay Elections - specific blog for each seat???

Serious blog here folks.

Since we will have so many Clay elections coming up (Superintendent, Sheriff, BCC), how about lets start a 'serious' blog for each major seat.  Nothing inflammatory, nothing accuasational, etc...  which I know is ideal and probably not entirely realistic.  However, it would be good to read some insight on some of the candidates - maybe invite them to put in their own comment on the blog (would they????)

Anyways - a thought, and those of you more in the know of Clay county politics would have a better feel whether we could pull this off or not.

In case you missed it - Voter ID cards - Why are Dems against?

For my liberal friends, and those who claim to be independent, heck - even for my conservative friends.

Why in the world would the Democrats be against requiring ID cards for voting?  Okay, hypothetical question.  We know why they are against it - so those in this country as 'guests' can vote.  I just can't imagine how in good conscience the Dems can actually stand up and say they are against requiring photo IDs for voting...

Thoughts?

Here are the first few sentences of the story.

DEAD PEOPLE VOTING

Few things make more sense than requiring people to show photo identification before voting.

What I learned in the last few weeks on MCS (part deaux)

Somehow on Fridays I sometimes just take a look at recent blogs and the spirit moves me to summarize recent developments.

1.  J.T. "Mr Speaker" is in bed with developers, is a multibillionaire and is getting richer off of the poor Clay County residents who don't know any better than to sign their name, then not sign their name...  How can this be the same county with one of the highest education levels in the state?

2.  Animal control well, they control animals.  Though they might not do it the way some folks would like.  These same nature lovers might take a lesson from well - mother nature.  She has her own way of animal control that involves the ultimate fertilizer.

Christmas in Iraq and Bush is 2007 Gallop most admired man, imagine that!!

In this day and age of Bush bashing and gnashing of teeth over Iraq, two items came out over the last few days sure to interest the politically leaning folks on either side and those balancing in the middle.  Of course, you didn’t see either one in the network news much but I knew you could all use just another tip from … no that one is taken, sorry.

Hope all had a Merry Christmas and you have a great 2008 in the greatest country in the world!

Baseball - steroids - why does our federal gov't care?

Can anybody give a clear understanding of why our U.S. Congress is so enthralled, engaged, and spending tons of money over steroids in baseball?  Am I missing something or when did our elected representatives become the oversight committee for a private organization, and sports at that?  Do they control the starting line-up?

Sorry for the sarcasm. Just curious about what I'm missing here... with all the other issues affecting our country why this can be a top priority in our nation's capital?
