Over 10,000 pounds of food

I don't know about the rest of the world but the zip code 32043 did an outstanding job in helping stamp out hunger! The amount of canned goods far out weighed any previous year. The letter carriers of 32043 hauled in car load after car load of donated items. The volunteers from The Food Pantry of Green Cove Springs, Venture Crew 577 of First Presbyterian Church of Grn Cv Spgs, and Boy Scout Troop 309 of Fleming Island Baptist Church really had their work cut out for them. Cheerful Service was all around, even in the heat of the day.

I took a few pictures of the event and will post them, maybe today.

Bag Lady Blues

Don't forget to put your little bag of can goods out by your mail box on Sat May 10.  Everyone that gets their mail @ the street should have a cute little shopping bag delivered by your letter carriers. If you did not get a bag you can always donate to the cause by putting canned goods by your mail box on Sat, Those of you with PO boxes can drop off your donations at the Post office of your choice.. Don't have any extra cans of food laying around? You can always donate $$$ the universal language of love ;)...couple bucks goes a long way to help those in our county that are struggling more.

Richard's Hat

Thanks Richard.

Big waste of $$$

one word: streetsweeper

Lots of gas and paying one guy eight hours to sweep the streets. If I was looking for a way to cut costs in a small town, I would elimitate this waste of taxpayers money..the way the wind has been blowing as of late all the trash is not on the street.

Happy Birthday to me!

GUESS WHAT THIS IS!!!

Some one hit my neighbor's car with a piece of pipe last night...Nice huh?  CCSO was called out and we were told that 15 cars were hit in OPS last night.. WTF is going on?

Last day of the Fair is the best time to go!!

I never in the whole history of the fair been on the last day. I figured that everyone would be tuckered out, not have any freebies to give away (got to have fridge magnets). Boy was I wrong, the place was rocking and rolling when we got there and people were lined up all the way to the railroad crossing in GCS when we left around 6:30.  I plan on posting my pictures but they will have to wait till tommorow cuz I am wore out...But for now this is a special picture of mine that I just had to share...

    All Faired Out...

Who will get the Blame???

As observed by me @ around 4:30pm on Thursday, April 10 2008.

I saw 5 children, H_Aing on the sidewalks in Eagle Harbor in a golf cart. They parked it in the swim park's lot and hoofed it the rest of the way to McDonald's. I really didn't have a great problem with this, other than they weren't really paying attention at the crossings where cars were coming and going. BUT when I was leaving that area I saw these two on the golf cart on Eagle Harbor Parkway. I turned around to see how far they were going to "drive" on the road. I took this picture as proof as to their ages and mode of transportation.
