Verb's blogEstablishing new boundaries on school board agenda Thursday
With bringing two new schools on-line, staff has made recommendations to the Superintendent on how to redraw school boundary lines to shuffle neighborhoods and schools. The schools impacted by adding two new schools will be: > The new Oakleaf Elementary School; > Argyle Elementary; > The new Shadowlawn Elementary School; > Lake Asbury Elementary; > Middleburg Elementary; > Charles E. Bennett Elementary; > Rideout Elementary and; > Thunderbolt Elementary. The 42-page supporting document can be found at http://www.clay.k12.fl.us/ Not too early to be Thankful
The ghosts and goblins are gone. It's not too early to be cognizant of the blessings we individually and collectively enjoy. As I was reading ClayCounty's post about her young, pregnant friend, I found myself feeling truly appreciative of the freedoms I take pleasure in: ►The freedom to express an idea. ►The freedom to read what I want to read without censorship from my government. Rutledge to the Rescue
Every fourth Monday, local chairs of Clay County Republican clubs and members of the Republican Executive Committee (REC) meet in the chambers of the Town of Orange Park. Last night, Commissioner Rob Bradley was the speaker. And he did a great job. At the end of the meeting, the chair of the REC always lets candidates introduce themselves and have a few minutes to address the crowd. Commissioner Harold Rutledge was there. He, along with Commissioner Bradley, have filed for the new countywide Chairmanship. I think what we're going to hear over the next year is a phrase Comm. Rutledge used on more than one occasion: "Thanks for sending Rutledge to the Rescue." |
